Talia Wins Gibson New Talent Of The Year | ||||
Talia Wittmann arrived at the 2009 Tamworth Country Music Festival, nominated for two Golden Guitars (Gibson Best New Talent of the Year & Female Artist of the Year). While at Tamworth Talia and her band Overdrive played an intense schedule of gigs throughout the ten day Festival, exciting locals and festival new comers alike. Talia supported the MyClymonts, and featured in the Compass Brothers Showcase. Talia also sang at the 30th Star Maker anniversary event, which included such artists as Gina Jeffreys, Lee Kernaghan, The McClymonts, James Blundell and Beccy Cole. The 37th CMAA Country Music Awards (presented by Jayco) also saw Talia on stage performing her new debut single ‘The Reckless Side of Me’ to a live audience shortly after her red carpet walk. Talia was nominated for two golden guitars along side such artist such as Catherine Britt, Jasmine Rae, Melinda Schneider, Sara Storer, Rob Black, 8 Ball Aitken and The Robertson Brothers. 2008 Toyota Star Maker winner Talia was very excited to be presented with the Golden Guitar for ‘Gibson New Talent of the Year’. After winning this award Talia said, 'It's such an amazing feeling to have been nominated for both of these awards and winning a golden guitar, after what feels like only yesterday winning the Toyota Star Maker award. I'm blown away and very honoured to say I have my very own Golden Guitar! Thank you to everyone at Compass Brothers, Capital News, Toyota and Rural Press for helping make my dreams come true”! The 37th CMAA Country Music Awards of Australia will be broadcast on Network Ten and Southern Cross Ten on Sunday, 1st February, 2009 at 2.00pm and on CMC (Country Music Channel) on Saturday, 14th February at 7.00pm. | ||||
